These terms apply when you use this site or ask GW Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your GW program's own requirements.

The service
GW Preceptor is an independent placement service for the George Washington University (GW) nursing students. We search for preceptors and clinical sites that fit a student's GW course, prepare preceptor and site information for the student's submission to GW, and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
GW does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official GW statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean GW Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
GW's role and final approval
GW's program directors and Clinical Placement Team approve every clinical site and preceptor its students use, and GW gives the final approval in every case. GW's Bulletin, program pages, course syllabi, CORE and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from GW's current requirements, GW's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that GW will approve a site or preceptor we identify, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after GW's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting GW's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- submitting the documentation GW asks for, including your CORE requests and Complio items, on time;
- holding an active, unencumbered RN license wherever a practicum site is located;
- completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
- logging hours and encounters accurately and following each site's rules;
- staying in contact with your program and course faculty;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and GW's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. GW's Bulletin places the cost of clinical placement on the student.

Our guides summarize GW's public Bulletin, program pages and other official sources as of the date shown on each page. They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and GW's rules can change. Check your syllabus, GW's clinical guidance in CORE and your program faculty before relying on any detail.
Communications
Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your enquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, GW Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of GW, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.
