Immunizations, health forms and certifications for GW clinicals

The rule that gates your clinical courses

The Bulletin's wording leaves no room: "Graduate students are not permitted to enroll in clinical courses without completion of immunization requirements." GW asks you to verify your health and immunization status in its compliance tracking system before any clinical coursework begins, and for graduate students that system is Complio.

GW's Compliance and Clinical page says the full immunization list appears in its Clinical & Practicum Virtual Orientation, while the Pre-Clinical Requirements Checklist on the Forms page gives the dose counts and renewal cycles. TB screening and the positive-TB form

TB screening renews every year on GW's checklist. The checklist does not name a test type for graduate students; GW's BSN list accepts a PPD or QuantiFERON within 12 months. If you are unsure which result your upload should show, confirm before your test date rather than after it.

A positive test or history takes a different route. GW's checklist asks for one chest X-ray, then a symptom screen every year after that. The Forms page has a "Positive TB Test / History" form on which your provider attests to the negative chest X-ray and completes the annual symptom screen. In later years, that yearly screen on GW's form is the item you renew.

The physical, health insurance and your headshot

The physical must be on GW's form, "Physical Examination / Documentation of Health Requirements," signed by a provider and completed within the last 12 months. The form dates from 2018 and still tells you to upload to CastleBranch; graduate students upload it to Complio instead.

Health insurance renews yearly on the checklist, and the 2026 CORE workshop is emphatic that every student needs coverage for the entire term. The Bulletin asks graduate students to verify coverage with the Clinical Placement Team.
