We are an independent preceptor placement service focused on one school's students: those of the George Washington University School of Nursing. GW's graduate programs ask students to identify their own clinical sites and preceptors, and we exist to make that step faster and more thorough, built around the way GW actually reviews and clears a placement.

Why we exist
GW Nursing built its graduate clinical model around student-identified sites. Outside the Acute Care options, a master's, doctoral or certificate student finds a site and a preceptor, brings them to GW through CORE, and GW's faculty and Clinical Placement Team take it from there. GW supports that search with a list of previously used sites, mentoring and its placement team, and the search itself stays with the student.
That is a big ask of people who are often working as nurses while studying online, spread across many states, with request dates about four months before each term and preceptors who fill their calendars a year or more ahead. We started this service for exactly that gap: one team whose whole focus is getting GW students into the right rotation, on time, with paperwork that fits GW's rules.
What we know well
Our specialty is GW's own clinical process, and we learn it the way GW publishes it: from GW Nursing's pages, the GW Bulletin and the documents GW hosts for its students. That means we work in GW's vocabulary from the first conversation.

How we work
Each student has a single placement advisor from intake to the final evaluation. The advisor starts from your course number, searches for clinicians whose practice fits that course near where you live, and brings you only preceptors who have said yes to your dates and hours.
Then comes the part most students find hardest to do alone: the documents. Your advisor gathers the preceptor's license and bio or CV, identifies the site's signatory and agreement contact, confirms the evaluation email and writes a short course-fit summary, so your Site Prospector submission is complete when you file it. Who we serve
Our focus is GW's online graduate students with precepted hours: the MSN and post-BSN DNP nurse practitioner tracks in family, adult-gerontology primary care, adult-gerontology acute care and psychiatric mental health; the post-master's NP certificates; Nurse-Midwifery; Nursing Leadership and Management; and the post-MSN DNP. We also work with clinicians. Nurse practitioners, physicians and nurse-midwives who would like to teach a GW student can tell us about their practice, and we introduce students whose course fits. The preceptor page explains what precepting a GW student involves.
How we see GW's role
GW Nursing sets the rules and makes the decisions. GW's program director reviews every site and preceptor, the Clinical Placement Team arranges agreements and issues clearance, and your Clinical Experience Faculty supervise you in clinical. We respect that order completely, and it shapes how we work: our goal is that what reaches GW's reviewers is complete, accurate and fits the course the first time.
Some parts of the process belong to you alone, such as your Complio record and your own RN licenses. Your advisor keeps those on your radar with reminders, because a missing immunization can hold up clearance as surely as a missing preceptor.

Questions GW students ask
Who will I work with?
A single placement advisor handles your placement from the first message to your final evaluation. Your advisor runs the search, prepares the preceptor's documents for your Site Prospector submission, answers questions from GW or the site, and restarts the search if a preceptor withdraws, so you never have to explain your situation twice.
Why focus only on GW Nursing students?
Because GW's process is specific. The course numbers, the setting each rotation needs, the Site Prospector rules, the Acute Care geography and the documents GW asks for are all GW's own. Focusing on GW lets us search and prepare packages that fit its review, rather than working from a general template.
How do you keep up with changes to GW's rules?
We track GW Nursing's program and clinical pages, the current GW Bulletin and the documents GW hosts for students, such as its CORE workshop materials. When sources conflict, we show both versions and point you to the deciding source, usually CORE's Document Library, your program director or the Clinical Placement Team.
Can I talk with someone before sending my details?
Yes. The chat on every page reaches the placement desk, and the WhatsApp and text buttons open a message to the same team. Ask whatever you need about your course or timing, and send your full details through the form whenever you are ready.
